Hispanic Heritage Month

The brief was to design kids crafts using 3 different types of substrates. For this project I selected to bring in some of my Hispanic heritage as well as my travels to Latin America. I created a Frida Kahlo canvas with painting supplies, I had the opportunity to travel to Mexico in 2014 & Frida Kahlo is a huge part of the decorative culture. I then designed a llama from my travels in Argentina, during our time there, we say many vendors from Peru & they sold yarn llamas in many sizes. The color & shapes of the llamas were a good inspiration. I created a felt llama with components to create value to the final product. Lastly I designed a wood sign with the sentiment "FELIZ", I drew from my time growing up in a Hispanic environment, considering the celebrations we had as a family with my parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, & cousins.
